The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, In his 2025 Eid-Al-Adha message, has called on Ghanaians and the global community to embrace interfaith unity, selflessness, and moral transformation.
Ahead of the celebration on Friday, June 6, Sheikh Sharubutu emphasized in a statement that Eid-Al-Adha is not merely about the ritual sacrifice, but a profound call to spiritual devotion and societal renewal aimed at fostering global peace.
Quoting Qur’an Chapter 22, verse 37, he reminded believers that, “Eid-Al-Adha is a celebration of sacrifice and a moment to reaffirm our faith in Allah,” adding that “Allah does not desire the flesh and blood of the sacrificed animals, but seeks our sincere devotion and piety.”
He cautioned that the values of the festival would be hollow if they do not translate into personal transformation and ethical progress. He encouraged the Muslim community to use the occasion as a moment of reflection and to commit to moving “from negativity to positivity for the greater good of society.”
Highlighting the obedience of Prophet Abraham the central figure of Eid-Al-Adha the Chief Imam stressed that this act of faith should serve as a bridge of unity among the Abrahamic religions.
“This is a point of convergence for all Abrahamic faiths,” he stated, urging Muslims, Christians, and Jews alike to view the festival as an opportunity to renew their dedication to peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
The message, delivered through his Personal Assistant, Dr. Abubakari Mohammed Marzuq Azindoo, also called for faith-driven, values-based action to address today’s pressing moral and humanitarian challenges.
