FIVE YEARS AGO, SOMEONE TOLD ME DIPLOMACY WAS NOT FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME. TODAY, I HAVE GRADUATED! ๐ŸŽ“๐ŸŒ

Some dreams are too powerful to be buried by the opinions of others.

Five years ago, I had a conversation with someone during which I passionately shared my dream of pursuing a career in diplomacy.

The response I received was one I will never forget.

"You? Diplomacy? Who told you diplomacy is meant for people like you? Come and work for me. Help me build my magazine and forget about this whole diplomacy dream. It will never happen."

I looked at this person, smiled, and simply said:

"WATCH ME!"

But here is the part of the story that makes this moment even more meaningful.
At the time, almost nothing in my life seemed to be working.
I was struggling, searching for opportunities, and trying to find my feet in a world that seemed determined to shut its doors on me.
Recently, while going through some old documents, I stumbled upon a letter I had written years ago, applying for a position as a janitor.

Even that application was rejected.

Yes, you read that right!
So, when I tell you that I have seen difficult days, believe me. I have lived through seasons when my reality looked nothing like the future I envisioned.
But something within me refused to surrender.

I had a dream. I had faith. And I had an inner grit that circumstances could not break.

Fast-forward five years.
That same young woman who was told diplomacy was not for people like her is now:
• An author of four internationally published books.
• An international writer and journalist.
• A website owner and entrepreneur.
• A budding lawyer.
• The founder of Budding Lawyers Network, an initiative committed to grooming aspiring lawyers into disciplined, ethically grounded legal professionals of excellence.
• A two-time valedictorian.
• An inspiration to many, with several other milestones to her credit.
And today, I can proudly add another chapter to this journey.

I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AND GRADUATED FROM MY DIPLOMACY AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS TRAINING! ๐ŸŽ“๐ŸŒ

The very dream someone once dismissed as impossible has become part of my reality.
And this is only the beginning!
I share this story not to prove that I am better than anyone, nor to mock those who doubted me.
I share it because somewhere, someone is standing exactly where I stood five years ago.
Someone is being told they are not good enough.
Someone is being made to feel that their background disqualifies them from greatness.
Someone is beginning to question a dream simply because another person cannot see its possibility.
Please, do not allow another person's limited perception of you to become the boundary of your destiny.
Some of us carry an inner grit that cannot be broken by rejection, ridicule, or negative opinions.
You may underestimate us. You may laugh at our dreams. You may even conclude that we will never amount to anything.

But we will smile and say, "WATCH ME!"

And by the grace of God, the very things you considered impossible will become testimonies.
But I also think about those who are not strong enough to withstand such discouragement.
Those who abandon their dreams because someone they respect tells them they are not capable.

To such people, I have a message:
If God has shown you a vision, trust that He has the power to bring it to pass.
It may take longer than you anticipated. The journey may be painful. Doors may close. People may walk away. You may even find yourself accepting opportunities far beneath what you once imagined for your life.
But none of these experiences necessarily means your dream is dead.
Sometimes, God allows you to see a future that nobody around you can comprehend.
Remember, God showed YOU the vision. He did not necessarily show it to the people around you.

So why should their inability to see it convince you that it cannot happen?
Not everyone deserves access to your dreams. Some people lack the capacity to nurture what God has planted within you.
Protect your vision. Work diligently. Remain humble. Keep learning. Trust God's timing.
And when life becomes difficult, remember that a delayed dream is not necessarily a denied destiny.

Five years ago, I said, "WATCH ME!"

Today, I look back with gratitude, not because I have arrived at my final destination, but because God has given me another reason to believe that the journey is worth it.
To everyone carrying a dream that seems bigger than their present circumstances: KEEP GOING.

Your present struggles are not the final verdict on your future.
May your faith outlive your fears, and may your courage be greater than the voices that seek to silence your dreams.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŽ“ FROM DIPLOMATIC TRAINING TO MAKING HISTORY!

I am delighted to announce the successful completion of my training in Diplomacy and International Affairs, culminating in the Model United Nations General Assembly Simulation and Graduation Ceremony on 24th October 2026.

Representing the Republic of Uganda ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ under the UNESCO Committee was an incredible experience filled with rigorous training, diplomatic negotiations, intellectual discourse and both formal and informal sessions.

๐Ÿ›️ AND WE MADE HISTORY!

Our UNESCO Committee emerged as the fastest committee to secure a unanimous vote in favour of our resolution on:

“Transforming Education for the Digital Age: Ensuring Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence and Equal Access to Digital Learning for Young People.”

This historic achievement reinforced a powerful lesson: Diplomacy is not merely about defending national interests but finding common ground and building consensus for global progress.

Receiving my certificate marked a fulfilling climax to this remarkable journey.

I am grateful for the knowledge gained, connections built and opportunity to contribute to meaningful global conversations.

The training has ended, but the diplomatic journey has only just begun! ๐ŸŒ✨

Best wishes to you.
Sending you courage, faith, and love. ❤️
