Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has strongly criticized Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin over his claims regarding a National Security operation at the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison.
Afenyo-Markin alleged that security operatives who conducted the search stole personal belongings, including jewelry and money belonging to Addison’s wife.
Addressing the issue at a press conference on Monday, March 24, 2025, Dr. Ayine dismissed the accusations as baseless and an “insult to the security service.”
“If Afenyo-Markin is daring me, I will make that recording available. He should stop maligning law enforcement officers who are carrying out their duties professionally, as well as myself for overseeing the process,” Dr. Ayine stated.
He reassured the public that all investigative procedures were conducted lawfully and in the best interest of the nation.
