A five-month-old baby girl has been brutally killed in Bawku after attackers snatched her from her mother and smashed her to the ground, leading to her tragic death.
The baby’s mother, who was out trading, was reportedly trailed by the assailants, beaten mercilessly, and had her child forcibly taken from her before the horrific act was carried out.
This latest incident adds to the escalating violence in Bawku and along the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway, pushing the death toll to 55 since the conflict reignited in October 2024.
Despite intensified efforts by security forces to restore calm and safeguard travelers, armed assailants continue to launch deadly attacks, deepening fear among residents and commuters.
