The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has disbursed a total of GH₵510.21 million in pensions to 253,601 retirees for January 2025. This payment, made on January 16, 2025, underscores SSNIT’s commitment to delivering prompt and reliable financial support to pensioners.

The January payouts include a 12% increment in monthly pensions, implemented as part of SSNIT’s annual indexation process for 2025. The adjustment was made in consultation with the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) and is in accordance with Section 80 of the National Pensions Act, 2008 (Act 766).

Under PNDC Law 247, the highest pension paid in January 2025 amounted to GH₵201,792.37, while the lowest was GH₵396.58. For pensions under Act 766, the highest monthly payout reached GH₵28,703.01, with a minimum of GH₵300 set for new pensioners.

This marks a significant increase compared to December 2024, when SSNIT disbursed GH₵454.05 million to 252,766 pensioners.
